Adolphe Binder, a former artistic director in Sweden, and from May 2017 ‘intendant’ and artistic director of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, presented the programme for the 2017–2018 season.
Under the leadership and artistic directorship of Adolphe Binder, the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch is now entering its forty-fourth season. This marks a new approach in the international ensemble’s history, in which Pina Bausch’s extensive oeuvre will be augmented by new contemporary works, new formats and processes.
A major restaging, with a new cast, and various revivals from different phases of Pina Bausch’s creative output, will form the core of the programme.
The company will present ten different productions including for the first time in its history two full-length premieres by international guest choreographers: we are delighted to present Dimitris Papaioannou and Alan Lucien Øyen, with their transdisciplinary signatures.
