Establishing international dependencies

Pina’s pieces have moved people throughout the world and her dance theatre has travelled to every continent, forming lifelong friendships and contacts. We wish to uphold this tradition; Pina’s archive will be made available at various locations throughout the world. We want to establish sites where people can meet, immerse themselves in Pina’s world, create something new together and come close to her.

Grants and prizes

In Pina’s name we want to support young people to follow their own path. We want to enable them to pursue their artistic practice to the full and give them the strength to tackle difficult challenges with courage and patience.

The search continues – in Wuppertal and worldwide

We have laid the foundations, but in order to explore and learn about Pina’s art and her search, collating and archiving the comprehensive material is not enough. More important is to conduct an investigation, to talk to the people who worked with her for years and hold so much valuable knowledge within them; to pass on something of what they experienced in their work with Pina and to tackle new subjects using the kind of questioning, delving and searching which Pina undertook.

Ensuring the future – Pina’s archive

There is so much to be researched and tried out, so much that is new to be initiated. These ideas, projects and encounters must be realised – as part of Pina’s Archive, which will be a place full of activity, full of people and full of joie de vivre.

Our most deeply held wish is to ensure a long-term future for this place.
