"Luis Layag was a good friend. We learned Pina’s Stravinsky and Weill evenings together. He was a very proud Filipino and on our Asian tour in Manila arranged a company reception with President Marcos and his wife Imelda. Yes, she of the shoes. Luis was radiant in Kontakthof in which he was often paired with the exquisite Silvia Kesselheim. After our return from the tour, he died suddenly. It was devastating."
