<h3>Babacar Mané</h3>
Babacar has worked with multiple dance companies. He joined the National School of Arts of Senegal to train in choreography. Babacar was the winner of the Institut Français de Paris’ Visa Pour La Création 2020 program.

Dancers from 14 African countries form the newly set up ensemble dedicated to re-stage Pina Bausch’s The Rite of Spring. After the premiere in Madrid in September 2021 the ensemble has been on an international tour worldwide at various locations: 2021 Copenhagen, St. Pölten and Luxembourg, 2022 Adelaide, again Copenhagen, London, Ludwigsburg, Spoleto, Paris, Montreal, Toronto, Ann Arbour and Chicago, 2023 The Hague and Wuppertal. Further tour dates will follow.

Dancing Pina celebrates the art of Pina Bausch and the people who approach her work today.

In March 2020, the world experienced a global response to the spread of the coronavirus. Events were canceled. Public life restricted. The rehearsals for The Rite of Spring came to a pause and rehearsal directors and dancers had to return to their homes. Before that, they rehearsed for the last time on the beach of Toubab Dialaw (Senegal). A documentary film team around filmmaker Florian Heinzen-Ziob was on site. The team spontaneously filmed the last rehearsal and captured a unique moment of self-empowerment and togetherness.
