Matthias Burkert is a musician. He has worked with Pina Bausch since 1979. He has many different responsibilities at Tanztheater Wuppertal. His work goes from morning to night. In the morning he plays the piano for the training of the dancers. During rehearsals he makes suggestions for the music. It is music from all over the world. He often finds the music on the many tours of Tanztheater. In the evening, he sits in the audience during the performances. From there he gives instructions for the music and lighting.
